Mrs. Brenda Pereira – School Secretary
Prior to coming to Westside Christian Academy I had achieved many accolades, both nationally and locally. I was the first woman in South Carolina to be appointed as Director of a Jail. I had been successful in my career and believed my life to be somewhat perfect. However, I knew something was missing. I was blessed with a wonderful church family and accepted Christ as my savior. God knew that I needed more. He opened the doors of Westside Christian Academy allowing me to work with such wonderful Christians. Because my life was about to take a major turn, God placed me with people who would pray with me and pray for me. Having the support of so many wonderful people is such a blessing to me and to my family.

Mrs. Diane Setzer – Health Room and Attendance
Beginning work at WCA was a direct answer to prayer. While praying for a job, I was asked by Joy Disher if I would consider teaching 5K. I had home schooled my three children for many years, but I had always said that I could never teach in a classroom setting. But of course, God had a different plan and a sense of humor. After praying, I obeyed His call to teach at WCA, and it was such a blessing to teach 5K for four years before moving to my new position in the Health Room/Attendance Office. This new position was also an answer to prayer. I have been truly blessed to work with such an incredible group of Christians. God is faithful and does immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine

Mrs. Laura Rider - Reception and Graphics
Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord your God is with you whithersoever thou goest.”
Being a military spouse I have been given the opportunity to live and work in different countries and cultures. In the 10 times that we have moved, God has always prepared a place for my family and me to live, worship and fellowship with fellow believers. He has never brought us anywhere that He has not gone ahead and prepared the way.
When my family and I relocated to SC from the very liberal country of The Netherlands, I had prayed fervently that God would allow me to find a job working with strong Christian people and that my family would find a church where we could worship and serve Him. God answered those prayers with Westside. It has been a joy to serve Him here along side such tremendous Christian people.
I don’t know when or where God will choose to move my family next, but I do know that no matter where or when God and Uncle Sam tells us it’s time for us to move again, He will be there preparing a place where my family and I can serve Him best. | |
